A coupling joins two shafts so torque passes from one to the other and, depending on its design, it also takes up misalignment, vibration and shock. Choose it by operating torque and speed, the diameter of each shaft, the misalignment you expect and the space available between the machines. Couplings sit between motors and pumps, gearboxes, compressors, fans and conveyors.
Each brand has its own designation system, yet most combine series, size and component. SKF PHE part numbers such as PHE 1020TGGRID or PHE 1020TGHCOVER give the coupling size and then the component: grid, covers or kits. Ruadigon's X-1 · Normal hub with screws names the component within the coupling. A-20 and A-50 from Gummi are two sizes in the same series, and Tsubaki's CR10020H is ordered complete, final letter included.
Flexible couplings accept misalignment and absorb shock; rigid couplings need accurately aligned shafts and transmit rotation with no backlash. When you replace one, find out which component failed (hub, elastic element, grid or cover), since each has its own part number and is quoted on its own.
We carry SKF, Ruadigon, Gummi and Tsubaki couplings. Send us the complete part number via WhatsApp or, without it, both shaft diameters, the torque or power, the RPM and a photo of the coupling as installed, and we will send you a quote promptly.
