The Gummi Type A TLB is an elastic coupling whose hubs accept a Taper Lock bushing, so the bore does not need to be machined. It connects shafts and takes up misalignment in driven equipment. Models include A-20 TLB, A-25 TLB and A-30 TLB.

This coupling belongs to Gummi's TLB line, which covers types A and BR. The hubs are machined for a Taper Lock bushing, but the bushing itself is ordered separately because it must match the shaft diameter. The code works as follows: the letter and number give the line and size, and TLB confirms the Taper Lock hub arrangement. Product pages list the maximum bore, the elastic element diameter, the overall length, the maximum speed and the matching bushing.

Typical applications are centrifugal pumps, fans, compressors, conveyor belts, mixers and other transmission equipment in industrial plants. It suits installations where torque must pass with some flexibility and minor misalignment needs to be absorbed, and where mounting without boring the hubs is an advantage.

When choosing a size, check the torque and the service factor for the driven machine, both shaft diameters, the speed and the environment. A Taper Lock fit simplifies installation and removal, but parallel and angular alignment still have to be verified before start-up. Routine maintenance means checking the elastic element and the bushing tightness.
