The DBH 9583/85 is a radial shaft seal, also called an oil seal, sized for a 20 mm shaft, a 35 mm housing bore and a 6.00 mm width. Its Lz design means a single lip with a spring, which is a common choice for lubricated rotating shafts. The seal presses into the housing and rides on the shaft, so it separates the oil or grease inside from dust and water outside. Because the lip wears over time, this is a replacement part: once it starts leaking or the lip feels hard, it gets swapped out.
