The DBH 9430 is a radial shaft seal from the DBH line. It keeps oil or grease contained where a shaft turns inside a housing. The size is given as 34 mm for the shaft, 60 mm for the housing bore, and 8 mm for the width, with an Lx design. This part is a lip seal with a metal outer case and a sealing lip, identified by the number 9430. The lip, usually an elastomer, presses against the shaft and holds the lubricant in while blocking dust and water. Because it rubs continuously, it is a wear item: when a leak shows up, the seal is normally replaced.

You will find seals of this type on gear reducers, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, rollers and other power transmission equipment. They are common at shaft exits and in bearing covers, where there is little axial room and a compact closure is needed.

Installation calls for a shaft free of burrs or grooves and a housing that is clean and undented. Coat the lip with the same oil or grease used in the machine, then press the seal in with a driver that contacts the outer diameter, not the lip. Shaft speed, operating temperature and the fluid being sealed all affect lip material choice; if the data sheet is missing, we can review those points with you.
