The DBH 5200 is a radial shaft seal that fits on a shaft and seals against the housing to keep lubricant in and contaminants out. With a 60 mm shaft, 80 mm housing and 10 mm height, it suits medium-sized power transmission equipment. As a wear part, a hardened or marked lip will start to leak oil and should be replaced before the bearing is damaged.

This seal has an Lx design: a single lip with a spring, made for rotating shafts with oil or grease lubrication. The flexible lip presses against the shaft while the spring maintains contact pressure, and the outer body is press-fitted into the housing. The elastomer resists mineral oils and the service temperatures common in industrial machinery.

You will find the DBH 5200 in gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, rollers and other power transmission equipment where a shaft turns inside a housing and the lubricant must be kept separate from the environment. It also appears in machine tools, conveyors and process equipment, always performing the same job: stopping oil leaks and blocking dust or water from reaching the bearing or gearbox.

Installation requires a clean shaft, free of burrs and marks in the contact area, and a lubricated lip before sliding it on. The housing must be in good condition and at the correct diameter; a damaged or loose seat will prevent sealing even with a new seal. When selecting a replacement, consider shaft diameter, housing diameter and height, as well as the lubricant type and working temperature, since these determine the lip compound.
