The DBH 9803 is a radial shaft seal that keeps lubricant in and contaminants out where a shaft turns. With a 60 mm shaft, 90 mm housing bore and 13 mm height, it fits medium-size equipment such as pumps, gearboxes and motors. This seal follows the A 111 geometry: a single lip with a spring, running against the shaft while its outer diameter sits pressed into the housing. The shaft measures 60 mm, the housing 90 mm and the overall height 13.00 mm. Because the lip is a wear item, it eventually hardens or rubs down, and that is when lubricant starts to escape.

You will find this size in gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, mixers and power transmission units. In food, chemical or water treatment plants it does two jobs at once: it holds oil inside and blocks dust or water from reaching the bearing. That makes it common on machines that get washed or cleaned often, and on older equipment where the original seal is hard to source.

Before fitting, check the shaft for burrs, splines or a worn sealing surface. The 60 mm diameter should slide on without force, and the 90 mm bore must be clean and mark-free. Lubricate the lip first, then press it in with a support tube rather than a hammer. If the shaft has a deep groove, a wear sleeve is worth considering. The 13.00 mm height has to match the housing so the seal stays seated.
