The DBH 6293 is a radial shaft seal built for a 28 mm shaft, a 52 mm housing bore and a 9 mm width, using the Lx configuration. Its job is to hold lubricant inside and keep dust, water and other contaminants out of gearboxes, pumps, motors and power transmission assemblies. The elastomeric lip rides against the turning shaft while the metal outer case stays fixed in the bore. Because the lip wears over time, the seal is replaced once leakage or contamination shows up.
