The DBH 1304 is a radial shaft seal built around a 48 mm shaft, a 75 mm housing bore and a 14.0/17.0 mm height. It keeps lubricant where it belongs and keeps dust, water and other particles out of the assembly. Pressed into the housing, its flexible lip rides on the rotating shaft. In gearboxes, pumps and motors, this sealing point often decides how long the bearings last.

Reading the code helps you confirm the fit before you order. The 48 mm figure is the shaft diameter the lip runs on, 75 mm is the housing bore it presses into, and the dual 14.0/17.0 mm height covers housings of slightly different depths. The A 423 design uses a sealing lip with that stepped height. The lip is an oil- and temperature-resistant elastomer, and the outer body is typically metal so it holds firmly in the bore.
