When a shaft seal starts weeping, the replacement you choose has to match the bore, the shaft and the space you have. The DBH 1301 is a single-lip radial oil seal in Mx design, sized at 85 mm shaft, 110 mm housing and 14.00 mm height. This seal sits with its outer case pressed into the housing while the lip rides on the rotating shaft. That arrangement holds grease or oil in and keeps dust, water and particles out. With an 85 mm shaft and a 110 mm housing, it fits gearboxes, pumps and transmissions where the shaft is above 80 mm and the seal has to stay compact and low-profile.

Typical service includes gear reducers, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, rollers and chain or belt drives, as well as mixers and other plant machinery running at moderate speed with lubricant present. In every case the job is the same: protect bearings and gears by keeping the lubricant where it belongs and the environment outside.

Selection comes down to three checks: shaft diameter, housing bore and available depth. Just as important is the running surface. A shaft with scratches or oval wear will damage a new seal no matter how well it is made. Fit the seal with the lip lubricated, drive it in with a tube or press that contacts the case only, and keep impact away from the lip. For equipment exposed to heavy vibration or high temperature, ask about alternative materials and designs.
