SKF self-aligning ball bearings: how to identify them

1200 ETN9 and 1201 ETN9 start with the same series and end with the same letter group, yet their basic numbers differ. Search with both pieces of information. 1202 ETN9/C3 adds a group after a slash, and dropping it leaves that variant only partly identified.

The catalog also lists 1205 EKTN9. Check the marking one character at a time: ETN9 and EKTN9 are not two spellings you can mix in a quote request. We list them exactly as shown, without claiming they are equivalent and without reading the mounting arrangement into a single letter. If the marking is worn, take photos of several spots on the ring before you propose a part number.

Catalog applications for this design include fan shafts, belt drives and agricultural machinery. Pin down the actual bearing position, since one drive can use different bearings within the same machine. Tell us as well whether the bearing came straight off the shaft or out of a housed assembly.

A bearing that tolerates misalignment still calls for a look at the housing. If you are asking about a failure, show us the assembled unit, the supports next to it and any marks you saw while removing it. A shaft that looks off-center is not, in itself, grounds for switching to another bearing variant.

Give us the quantity and the full designation, along with the bore, outside diameter and width. Include one photo of the marking and another of the bearing with its mounting components. Name the machine, the shaft and the bearing position, and if you have an exploded drawing, mark the item in question. That way we keep both the identity of the replacement and the conditions it works in.
