FNL flanged housings

The SKF FNL is a one-piece cast-iron flanged housing that bolts to a wall or vertical frame. It holds self-aligning ball bearings and spherical roller bearings with a tapered bore, fitted to the shaft on an adapter sleeve. Choose it by bearing size, shaft diameter, how it attaches to the structure, and the load and speed involved.

In SKF part numbers like FNL 505 A, FNL 506 B or FNL 507 A, FNL names the series, the number gives the housing size and the bearings it accepts (not the shaft diameter), and the closing letter, A or B, separates design variants. Two housings with the same number may not interchange, so we quote from the full part number.

Applications include belt conveyors, fans, pumps and other machines where the shaft is carried on a structure and the bearing must sit in an exact position. End covers and locating rings close off the housing against dust and moisture and set the axial position the arrangement needs.
