The Stark A 42 is a classical V-belt with an A profile, a 13 mm top width and an 8 mm height. The 40° angle and the A-profile cross-section identify how it seats in a standard classical V-groove pulley. The same size is also listed under Optibelt A 42.

When you read a marking like A 42, the profile and the length are the two dimensions that matter most for a like-for-like replacement. The A profile fixes the top width at 13 mm and the height at 8 mm, so the belt sits correctly in an A-section pulley groove. The 40° angle is the included angle of the belt cross-section and matches the groove geometry expected by that profile.

For maintenance and purchasing, the fastest way to confirm the right belt is to read the full marking from the back of the old belt and send it with the quantity you need.
