Description

SEALMASTER RFP-40MM belongs to piloted flange bearing, part of our Bearing housings range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for RFP-40MM and any equivalents.

The SEALMASTER RFP series is a piloted flange mounted bearing unit designed to bolt directly onto a machined face. The pilot shoulder centers the assembly in the bore, so no separate seat has to be machined. This makes it a practical choice for transmission, conveying and process equipment where a compact unit that is easy to replace is preferred. MR Industrial Accessories LLC supplies this line.

Reading the designation is straightforward. The figure after RFP gives the bore in millimeters, and the MM suffix confirms metric measurement rather than inches. A 35 mm shaft therefore calls for RFP-35MM, a 40 mm shaft for RFP-40MM, and the same logic applies upward. The series runs continuously through RFP-45MM, RFP-50MM, RFP-55MM, RFP-60MM, RFP-65MM and RFP-70MM, covering a range of metric shaft diameters.

Typical installations include belt conveyors, bucket elevators, mixers, mills, centrifugal pumps and other process equipment in food, chemical and aggregate plants. The piloted flange simplifies mounting on sheet metal or cast iron and handles combined loads. These units also turn up on road machinery and material handling equipment working in dusty or damp conditions.

Selection starts with matching the shaft diameter to the number in the designation and confirming that the flange pilot fits the bore. Sealing deserves attention as well: SEALMASTER housings generally use lip seals to keep contaminants out, and in very dirty environments extra protection is worth considering. When mounting, seat the flange against the face and tighten the bolts in a cross pattern so the housing does not distort. Relubricate according to the manufacturer's recommendation and adjust the interval to the service conditions.

Piloted flange housings are sold under several brand nomenclatures. For a replacement, the part number alone is not enough: compare bore diameter, flange type, bolt hole center distance and sealing arrangement. A unit from another brand with the same shaft size and a similar flange layout can often be interchanged, but confirm the critical dimensions before installing. If anything is unclear, send the measurements or the drawing and we will point you to a compatible option.

To request a SEALMASTER RFP series housing, message us on WhatsApp or by email with the full part number, for example RFP-45MM, or with your shaft and flange measurements. We reply promptly and help you confirm the right reference. If you need a variant with a different seal or fixing arrangement, we can also suggest alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

How do I determine which RFP housing size fits my shaft?
The number in the designation is the bore diameter in millimeters. Measure the shaft with a caliper and pick the matching part number, for instance RFP-45MM for a 45 mm shaft. If you are unsure, send us the measurement on WhatsApp and we will help you choose.
How does a piloted flange housing differ from a plain flange housing?
A piloted housing has a shoulder that centers it in the bore, which improves alignment and resists displacement. A plain flange housing is centered by the bolts alone. Where vibration or load is present, the piloted version is generally the better fit.
Can a housing from another brand be replaced with a SEALMASTER RFP unit?
Often yes, provided the shaft diameter, flange configuration and bolt hole distances match. Do not go by the part number alone; compare the dimensions. Send us the measurements or the drawing and we will confirm whether it is interchangeable or suggest a compatible alternative.
