This Optibelt SPB 3170 is a narrow wedge V-belt in the SK S=C Plus series, built for industrial drives that run at higher speeds and carry more load than standard V-belts of the same width. It fits drives where the pulley groove is cut for an SPB profile. Confirm the profile and the length before ordering, because both are stamped on the belt and both must match the drive.
Narrow wedge belts such as this one are common on pumps, fans, compressors, mixers and other plant equipment driven from an electric motor. The SPB profile is a metric narrow section, so it will not seat correctly in a pulley cut for an older US section. Check the groove width and the belt's top width of 16.3 mm against the pulley. The belt is 13 mm high and the included angle is 40 degrees.
