Description
OPTIBELT 8MHP 288 belongs to timing belt, part of our Power transmission range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for 8MHP 288 and any equivalents.
The Optibelt 8MHP 288 is an Omega HP timing belt in the HTD 8M profile with a 288 mm length. Before fitting it, inspect the drive and the sheaves so the new belt runs true from the start.
Check the sheaves for worn grooves, burrs, corrosion or embedded debris, and confirm the pulleys turn freely without play or noise. Misalignment between the two sheaves will shorten belt life, so correct it before the belt goes on. Clean the grooves and verify that the flanges are not bent or rubbing.
Compare the old belt against the new one. The Optibelt 8MHP 288 carries the HTD 8M profile, a 288 mm length and an 8 mm pitch, so the marking on the back of the belt should match these values. If the drive uses more than one belt, replace the full set at the same time so the load is shared evenly.
