The Optibelt 5V KB 3550 is a banded V-belt from the KB SK series, with a length of 9017 mm. Before you fit it, spend a few minutes checking the drive and the sheaves. A worn or misaligned sheave will shorten the life of any new belt, no matter how good the belt is.

Start with the sheaves. Look for worn grooves, a step or ridge where the belt has been running, and any nicks or burrs on the flanges. Also check the tensioning arrangement: the take-up should have enough travel to tension the belt correctly, and the mounting bolts should be tight. On a banded belt, all ribs must run in their own grooves, so confirm the sheave groove count matches the belt.
