The Optibelt 3V KB 950 is a banded V-belt from the KB SK series, with a length of 2413 mm. Before you install it, take time to inspect the drive and sheaves so the new belt runs true and lasts.

Check sheave grooves for wear, rust, or embedded debris. Worn grooves let the belt sit too deep, which leads to slippage and heat. Clean the grooves and confirm they are straight and free of burrs. Misalignment between sheaves is a common cause of premature belt failure, so verify that the pulleys are parallel and in line.

Inspect the bushings, bearings, and shafts for play or rough turning. Any wobble will transfer to the belt and shorten its life. Also check the drive guard for clearance and make sure nothing rubs the belt path. If the old belt shows uneven wear or cracks, the drive may need correction before the new belt goes on.
