The 100 2A is a V-belt pulley from EMMAR's own production line. It measures 100 mm across the outside, carries two grooves, and takes A-section belts. You will find it on fans, pumps, compressors and similar driven equipment where speed has to be stepped up or down between two shafts. The bore is machined to match your shaft, and the unit mounts with a keyway plus axial fixing.

Reading the code is straightforward: 100 is the outside diameter in millimeters, 2 is the groove count, and A is the belt cross-section. Each groove is cut to the A profile, so width and depth are set for that belt size. Depending on the production run, the body comes in cast iron or steel. The bore, keyway and any balancing are finished to the customer's shaft dimensions, and a drawing is used to confirm those details before machining.

Typical installations include centrifugal pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, mixers, machine tools, refrigeration units and exhaust fans — basically fixed-ratio drives in the low to medium power range. Two grooves give you two options: double the torque capacity, or run two belts so the load is shared and slip is reduced. Plants that cannot afford an unplanned stop often prefer the twin-groove setup, because the drive keeps turning on a single belt until the second one is replaced.

When specifying, work from the power to be transmitted and the RPM of both the driving and driven shafts. The pitch diameter follows from the ratio you need. Check that the belt section matches the groove — a B belt will not seat properly in an A groove. Alignment between the two pulleys should stay within 0.5 mm for every 100 mm of center distance, otherwise the belts wear unevenly. Mounting is by keyway with axial retention through a set screw, plate or taper bushing; on larger shaft diameters a taper bushing makes installation and removal easier.

If the standard 100 2A does not fit your application, other diameters, groove counts and belt sections can be produced to order. For an equivalent, send the complete part number, the number of grooves, the belt section and the bore size with keyway.
