When a chain drive needs one strand, a defined ratio and a wheel that mounts straight onto the shaft, this hub-type sprocket covers the job. The hub is the raised center section, so no separate adapter disc is required between wheel and shaft. It suits transmission layouts where the ratio is fixed and the chain has to run evenly.
