The Movendis PP-5V530 is a narrow wedge V-belt in the 5V profile with a length of 1362 mm. It is part of the PowerPlus series, which we carry for industrial drives. Before you fit this belt, take a few minutes to inspect the drive and sheaves.

Worn sheaves are a common cause of premature belt failure. Check the groove flanks for wear, scoring or a step, and confirm the groove width is within the sheave maker's limits. A belt that sits too deep or too high in the groove will slip or overheat. Also check alignment between the driver and driven sheaves with a straightedge or laser tool. Misalignment as little as half a degree will shorten belt life.

Inspect the sheaves for cracks, chips or foreign material in the grooves. Clean out any debris and remove rust with a fine abrasive pad. Check the bushing and key for tightness, and confirm the sheave runs true. If you are replacing a belt on a multi-belt drive, replace all belts at the same time so the load is shared evenly. Mixing a new belt with old ones can overload the new belt.

After fitting the PP-5V530, check the tension according to the drive maker's specification. Run the drive for a short period, then re-check tension and re-tension if needed.
