Description

GUMMI AD-A 10 belongs to gear coupling, part of our Power transmission range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for AD-A 10 and any equivalents.

The Gummi AD-A is a double-compensating metallic gear coupling from the AD line. It uses two flexible hubs that engage a toothed sleeve, transmitting torque between shafts while accommodating misalignment. This makes it suitable for power transmissions that demand robustness and continuous operation.

The AD series comprises metallic toothed couplings with heat-treated steel components. The AD-A variant is double-compensating, featuring a flexible hub at each end that meshes with the toothed sleeve. This arrangement absorbs angular, radial, and axial misalignment between shafts, which a rigid coupling cannot do. Model codes combine the line letters with a size number, such as AD-A 10, AD-A 15, or AD-A 25.

These couplings are found where a motor or gearbox connects to driven equipment and high loads are transmitted continuously. Typical applications include conveyor belts, mills, mixers, pumps, fans, cranes, and rolling equipment. As gear couplings, they handle high loads and demanding conditions when selected and aligned properly.

Selecting an AD-A involves the machine torque and the service factor for the load type, plus shaft diameter and rotation speed. Each model page lists nominal torque and maximum speed to help determine the size. During installation, keep shafts as aligned as possible even though the coupling compensates misalignment. Lubricate the teeth and inspect periodically as part of maintenance.

To request a quote, provide the model or part number (e.g., AD-A 20 or AD-A 30), the diameters of both shafts, and the power and rpm of the motor and driven machine. This information helps us recommend the correct size within the AD line. For existing equipment, the model on the coupling nameplate or drawing can also identify the variant.

Frequently asked questions

How does an AD-A coupling differ from a rigid coupling?
The AD-A is a double-compensating metallic gear coupling with two flexible hubs that absorb misalignment between shafts. A rigid coupling does not permit such movement and requires very precise alignment. This is why the AD-A is chosen for transmissions where small deviations must be compensated.
What steps are involved in choosing the right AD-A size?
Begin with the machine torque and apply the service factor for the load type. Compare that value with the nominal torque of the model, and check the maximum speed and shaft diameter. Each size's product page provides that data for comparison.
What information do I need to request a quote for an AD-A?
Send the model or part number, the diameter of both shafts, and the power and rpm of the motor and driven machine. With that, we will quote the corresponding AD-A coupling. If you have the old part number, it also helps identify the variant.
