For shaft-to-shaft connections where some misalignment and vibration are unavoidable, the GUMMI A-90 flexible coupling uses a rubber center that works in compression. It pairs two normal hubs with that rubber element. Maintenance and purchasing teams specify it on pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors that run under variable load.

This model sits in the Type A range and ships in the CN arrangement, meaning both hubs are identical normal hubs. Its nominal torque rating is 2170 Nm. Machining can go up to a maximum bore of 85 mm, starting from a 30 mm pilot hole. The flexible center measures 302 mm in diameter, the assembly is 250 mm long overall, and it weighs 26 kg. Those figures suit demanding industrial assemblies where power has to move between two shafts.

You will see the A-90 on centrifugal pumps, fans, screw compressors, conveyors and machine tools. In each case it takes up small angular, radial and axial offsets, which keeps vibration away from the bearings and supports the service life of the whole assembly. Sizing a Type A coupling starts with three inputs: the nominal torque the drive needs, the shaft diameters to be joined, and the service conditions. The 85 mm maximum bore and the 30 mm pilot hole set the machining window. Check alignment before startup and use the correct fasteners. The rubber center is the wear part to watch, so inspect it on a regular schedule for signs of aging or damage.
