Description

GUMMI A-80 belongs to flexible coupling, part of our Power transmission range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for A-80 and any equivalents.

For drives that need a cushion between the motor and the driven machine, the GUMMI A-80 is a flexible coupling that links two shafts while soaking up misalignment, vibration and torsional shock. The rubber flexible center is what keeps operation smooth and quiet, which takes strain off motors and driven equipment. It fits a broad range of industrial duty, and we supply it as one of the sizes in the GUMMI coupling range.

The A-80 sits in the Type A series and comes set up with two normal hubs, the CN arrangement. Rated nominal torque is 1550 Nm, with a maximum bore of 75 mm and a pilot hole of 30 mm. The flexible center measures 302 mm across, overall length is 250 mm and the unit weighs 24.9 kg. Those figures put it in the range of heavier power transmission work.

You will see this size on centrifugal pumps, fans, compressors, conveyor belts and machine tools. Because the flexible center is rubber, it takes up angular and radial offset and cuts noise and vibration through the drivetrain. That behavior also shields bearings and gears from torque spikes.

Selecting an A-80 starts with the nominal torque the application calls for, then the shaft diameters and the conditions where the equipment runs. The 75 mm maximum bore and 30 mm pilot hole let the hubs be machined to suit the shafts. Check alignment at assembly and use the correct fastening hardware so the coupling is not loaded by parasitic stresses.

Frequently asked questions

What does the CN hub configuration mean on this coupling?
CN means both hubs are the standard design with no special machining. They mount on keyed shafts with conventional fastening, which keeps installation straightforward for most industrial setups.
Can the GUMMI A-80 replace a coupling from another make?
It can, provided the critical dimensions line up: nominal torque, shaft diameters, overall length and the distance between ends. Send the original coupling data on WhatsApp and we will help you find the right equivalent.
How should this flexible coupling be maintained?
Inspect the rubber flexible center at intervals for cracks, permanent deformation or heavy wear. Also verify shaft alignment and that the fastening elements stay properly tightened.
