The Gates Polyflex 7M 1850 is a narrow V-belt with a 1850 mm length. It is part of the Polyflex series and is used in drives that require a compact, high-capacity belt. Before fitting a new belt, inspect the drive and sheaves to help ensure proper performance and belt life.
Check sheave grooves for wear, rust, or debris. Worn sheaves can quickly damage a new belt. Verify that the sheave grooves match the 7M profile and that the belt sits correctly in the grooves. Misalignment between sheaves can cause uneven wear and noise. Correct any misalignment before installing the new belt.
Inspect the entire drive: look for worn bearings, loose mounts, or damaged guards. Replace any worn components. Clean the sheaves and check that they are tight on their shafts. When installing the Gates Polyflex 7M 1850, adjust tension according to the drive manufacturer's specifications. Recheck tension after the first few hours of operation.
