The TB-SCFS line from DODGE covers 2-bolt flange mounted Y-bearing units built around an ER-Series insert. Two anchor points hold the flange against a frame or panel, so a rotating shaft can be carried without any machining of the housing. For maintenance and purchasing teams, it is a straightforward way to support a shaft where space is limited and the mounting surface already exists.

Reading the code helps you order the right unit. TB-SCFS names the flange housing family with its insert; the middle number block, as in TB-SCFS-008L-SHFS or TB-SCFS-010L-SHFS, points to the shaft size the unit fits. The letter L marks a locking or sealing variant inside the line, and SHFS identifies the flange and housing assembly. Inserts in the ER-Series are the ones these housings take.

Typical duty includes conveyors, belts, elevators, mixers, fans and other process equipment that needs a shaft carried on a two-bolt flange. Food, cement, chemical, grain and aggregate plants use them, along with agricultural machinery and material handling gear. Because the unit mounts from the front, it drops onto existing sheet metal or structure with little fuss, and the insert takes radial load plus some axial thrust from shafts that run slightly out of line.

Selection comes down to three things: shaft diameter, how the shaft is locked (set screw, eccentric or adapter), and where the unit works. Dust, moisture or regular washdown call for tighter sealing. At installation, check that the flange face sits flat and that both holes line up with the frame, since misalignment speeds up insert wear. Use the lubricant specified for the insert and refresh it on the duty cycle you actually run. Do not hammer the insert while sliding the shaft in.

Other makes of 2-bolt flange housings with insert bearings can stand in for this line when flange dimensions, shaft diameter and locking method line up. The code by itself will not tell you that: compare mounting drawings and seal type. If you need an alternative, send us the details and we will point you to the option that fits your application.
