Description
DBH 9417 belongs to radial shaft seal, part of our Seals range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for 9417 and any equivalents.
A radial shaft seal such as the DBH 9417 keeps lubricant inside the housing and keeps dust, water and other particles out. It closes the gap between a rotating shaft and a stationary bore, so bearings and gears stay protected. The Lx version is a single-lip seal with no visible secondary spring, which suits shafts that are machined to a good finish. Typical installations include gearboxes, pumps, electric motors and other power transmission equipment.
The dimensions to match are shaft 34 mm, housing 56 mm and height 8.00 mm, in Lx design. The lip rides on the shaft while the outer case is pressed into the bore, and those three figures set the fit. Whenever a seal is replaced, inspect the shaft first: burrs, grooves or a worn sealing track will damage a new lip shortly after startup.
You will find this seal wherever a shaft turns inside a lubricated housing, such as speed reducers, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, mixers and conveyors. Machine tools and process equipment that run on oil or grease also rely on it. In each case it works two ways, holding the lubricant in and keeping contaminants out, which is what protects bearings and gears from premature wear.
Shaft diameter by itself does not identify a seal. The bore diameter and the height have to match as well, and the lip compound must be chosen for the fluid and the operating temperature. An Lx seal is the right pick when the shaft is well finished and differential pressure is low. At installation, coat the lip with the same oil used in the unit, keep the seal square to the shaft and drive it in on the outer face with a tube of the correct diameter, never on the lip.
If the 9417 is not what you need, we can search the DBH line for an equivalent. Send the number stamped on the old seal, or the shaft, housing and height dimensions together with the equipment brand. We review options in the same family and confirm which one fits without machining the bore. Where the original sees higher pressure or temperature, we can also look at a different lip design.
To get a quote on the DBH 9417, send part number 9417 by WhatsApp or email along with the quantity. If you are unsure of the size, attach a photo of the old seal or the housing drawing and we will verify it before quoting. Our team can also suggest equivalents and help you choose the right seal for the application.

Frequently asked questions
- What are the dimensions of the DBH 9417 oil seal?
- Shaft 34 mm, housing 56 mm and height 8.00 mm, in Lx design. Compare all three against your bore before installing; a mismatch on the housing or height means the seal will not seat correctly and will leak.
- How do I request an equivalent oil seal if the 9417 is not available?
- Send the part number of the old seal, or the shaft, housing and height dimensions, by WhatsApp or email, along with the fluid type and working temperature. With that information we look for an alternative in the same family that fits without modifying the housing.
- What does the Lx design mean in a radial shaft seal?
- It is a single-lip configuration with no visible additional spring, intended for shafts with a good surface finish and low differential pressure. If the equipment runs with pressure or heavy contamination, it is worth considering another lip design or a seal with a dust lip.
