The DBH 9090 is a single-lip radial shaft seal in the Lx design: an elastomer sealing lip with a steel spring and no secondary dust lip. It seats in the housing and rides on the shaft, holding lubricant inside the assembly while keeping dust, water and particles out. Its 16 mm shaft, 40 mm housing and 8 mm height make it a compact size common in motors, pumps and power transmission equipment.

Reading the designation helps when you order. The code 9090 identifies the seal, and the dimensions that go with it are shaft 16 mm, housing 40 mm and height 8.00 mm. The Lx design means the lip is elastomer with a spring behind it and there is no extra exclusion lip. That setup is the usual choice for keeping oil or grease inside bearing chambers and gearboxes that are not directly exposed to mud or pressurized water.
