The DBH 9028 is a radial shaft seal with an Lx design, built to retain oil, grease or water on rotating shafts. It fits a 10 mm shaft, an 18 mm housing bore and a 7 mm height, and combines a sealing lip with a metal case that presses into the housing. Typical duty covers pumps, electric motors, gear reducers and power transmission equipment, where the seal protects bearings and stops lubricant from escaping.

In the Lx configuration, a single elastomer lip runs against the rotating shaft while the outer metal case holds the seal in place and provides static sealing. The lip keeps the lubricant inside; the case keeps the seal anchored in its bore. Because the lip wears over time, the seal is a replacement item: fit a new one when a leak appears or when the lip feels hard or cracked.
