The DBH 8567Pol is a radial shaft seal that sits in a housing bore and seals against a rotating shaft. Its job is to hold lubricant in and keep dust, water and other particles out. The three dimensions to confirm are shaft 65.00 mm, housing 88.00 mm and height 12.00 mm, and it uses the Lx-H-H design. Because the lip wears against the shaft over time, this is a replacement item: once lubricant starts escaping, fit a new seal of the same size.

Read the size as shaft x housing x height: 65.00 mm for the shaft, 88.00 mm for the bore it presses into, and 12.00 mm for the width. The Lx-H-H designation tells you the construction — a sealing lip and a dust lip carried on a metal case — and it also tells you which way the part faces and how it seats in the bore. Measure all three with a caliper before you order; the lip only works if they match.

Check the bore for dents or leftover sealant, oil the lip before pressing it in, and apply pressure evenly — never hammer on the lip or the spring. The seal has to end up square to the shaft.
