The DBH 8482 is a radial shaft seal with a sealing lip and an additional dust lip, known as the Lx design. It measures 15 mm at the shaft, 35 mm at the housing and 8.00 mm in height. This seal keeps oil or grease inside rotating assemblies and blocks dust and water from entering. It is a wear part, so any sign of lubricant seepage or contamination means it should be replaced with the same designation.
In this seal, the elastomer lip runs against the rotating shaft while the outer diameter is press-fitted into the housing.
