Description
DBH 8436 belongs to radial shaft seal, part of our Seals range. Tell us how many you need by WhatsApp or email and we'll get back to you promptly with a quote for 8436 and any equivalents.
The DBH 8436 is a radial shaft seal from the DBH line, sized for a 35 mm shaft, a 72.50 mm housing bore and a 16 mm height. It keeps lubricant in and contaminants out of rotating shaft assemblies, protecting bearings and bushings from dust, water and particles. The seal presses into the housing and its flexible lip runs against the shaft surface, which should be ground and lubricated. As a wear part, it deserves attention at every maintenance interval.
This seal carries the A 053 design, which defines the lip and metal case geometry, and the 8436 code identifies its size within the DBH line. It is a single-lip radial shaft seal with a metal outer case and elastomer, made for rotating shafts under permanent lubrication. Installation is in a cylindrical housing, with the lip sealing against the shaft.
You will find the DBH 8436 in gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, power transmission equipment and general machinery where a shaft turns inside a lubricated housing. It also suits applications exposed to dust or splashes, where it keeps lubricant clean. Food, chemical and process industry equipment commonly use this type of seal, as long as the lip material is compatible with the fluid and the working temperature.
For correct selection, confirm that the shaft, housing bore and height match the product: shaft 35 mm, housing 72.50 mm, height 16 mm. The shaft should be ground, with no splines or burrs in the sealing area, and with appropriate hardness and surface roughness. The housing needs an entry chamfer to protect the lip. Lubricate the lip before installation and drive the seal with a flat tool that contacts the outer diameter, never the elastomer. If the shaft is worn, a repair sleeve is an option.
To request a quote for the 8436 code, send the shaft, housing bore and height dimensions. A photo of the old seal or its stamped code also works. With that information we can suggest an alternative in the same series or another brand we carry. Avoid replacing by approximation: a one-millimeter difference in the housing bore can lead to leaks or a forced installation.
MR Industrial Accessories supplies the DBH brand within its seals and oil seals range. Send the 8436 code by WhatsApp or email and our team will reply promptly. You can also ask about other radial shaft seals, mechanical seals and bushings in the same category.

Frequently asked questions
- What are the dimensions of the DBH 8436 oil seal?
- It fits a 35 mm shaft, a 72.50 mm housing bore and a 16.00 mm height. The design is A 053. These dimensions are confirmed and should be checked before installation.
- How do I request an equivalent?
- Contact us on WhatsApp or by email with the 8436 code and the shaft, housing bore and height dimensions. If you have the old seal, a photo of the stamped code helps. We will look for a compatible alternative within the brands we carry.
- What care should I take when installing a radial shaft seal?
- The shaft must be ground and free of burrs, and the housing should have an entry chamfer. Lubricate the lip before installation and use a driver that bears on the outer diameter. Avoid striking the elastomer and make sure the seal sits square.
