The DBH 6231 is a radial shaft seal that keeps lubricant in and contaminants out of rotating equipment. Its 6231 code covers a 15 mm shaft, 30 mm housing and 4.50 mm height, with Lx design. This lip seal fits pumps, motors, gearboxes and similar assemblies where axial space is tight.

The seal is identified as DBH 6231. Its dimensions are shaft 15 mm, housing 30 mm and height 4.50 mm. The Lx design means a single lip with a spring, made for lubricated rotating shafts. The lip runs on a ground surface that must be free of marks. As a wear part, it is replaced during planned maintenance or when oil starts to leak.

Before fitting, check that the shaft is 15 mm and has the right surface finish, with no burrs or splines that could harm the lip. The 30 mm housing must be clean and undistorted. The 4.50 mm height sets the axial space needed. Lubricate the lip, then press on the outer diameter with an installation tube—never on the lip. Do not strike the seal, and keep it square to the shaft.
