The DBH 5133Sil is a radial shaft seal sized for a 20 mm shaft, a 30 mm housing bore and a 7 mm overall width. It keeps oil or grease where it belongs and blocks dust, water and other contaminants from reaching the bearing cavity. You will find this seal in gearboxes, pumps, motors and similar transmission equipment where the shaft turns continuously and a dependable barrier is needed.

This seal belongs to the DBH line and carries the code 5133Sil. In the Lz version it combines a sealing lip with a spring, a configuration intended for rotating shafts that run with lubrication. The elastomeric lip rides against the shaft, while the metal case holds the seal in the housing. Because it is a wear part, the lip can harden or score over time and begin to leak.

A 20 x 30 x 7 mm seal is common on smaller shafts turning at moderate speeds. Electric motors, centrifugal pumps, gear reducers, compressors, machine tools and belt or chain drives are typical hosts. You may also find it in agricultural implements and in process equipment where an oil or grease side must stay separate from the outside environment. In every case, the seal stops leaks and shields the bearings.

Proper installation starts with the shaft: no burrs, no scoring in the lip contact zone. The housing should be clean and free of dents. Apply lubricant to the lip, then press the seal in squarely with a tube or spacer that bears on the outer edge. If the shaft has a groove or shoulder, keep the lip facing the lubricant side. Speed, temperature and the fluid being sealed all influence selection, so ask if you are unsure.
