The DBH 5130Vit is a radial shaft seal that keeps lubricant in and contaminants out where a rotating shaft passes through a housing. Its size is 30 mm for the shaft, 52 mm for the housing bore and 10 mm for the width. You will find this size in gearboxes, pumps and electric motors. The 5130Vit belongs to the DBH line of oil seals. The Lx design means a single sealing lip with a spring, made for rotating shafts that run with oil or grease. The elastomeric lip rides on the shaft; the metal case holds the seal in the housing by interference. Because it is a wear part, it gets replaced when lubricant starts escaping or when dirt begins to enter.
Seals of this size show up in gear reducers, centrifugal pumps, electric motors, transmission shafts and process equipment. In every case the job is the same: keep the lubricated side separate from the outside, protect bearings and gears, and stop leaks. Food, chemical and water treatment plants also use them where shaft sealing affects the process.
