When a rotating shaft needs to keep oil in and contaminants out, a radial lip seal like the DBH 1211 does the job. It fits a 45 mm shaft and a 70 mm housing bore, with a height of 14.0/17.0 mm. The A 298-Bidi profile means it has two lips: one to hold lubricant and one to block dust and water. Because it is a wear part, it gets replaced when leakage or dirt ingress shows up.

During installation, lubricate the lip, avoid hitting it directly, and press it in evenly with a tube or shim of the correct diameter. A lip that goes in crooked or runs on a scratched shaft will leak even if the size is right.
