The Dayco AP44 is a classical V-belt in the A profile, with a 1168.4 mm length, 13 mm top width, 8 mm height and a 40° angle. Before you fit it, inspect the drive and sheaves so the new belt seats and runs correctly.

Worn sheaves are a common reason a replacement belt wears out early. Check groove flanks for ridging, step wear or a polished surface, and confirm the groove width and angle match the 40° belt. Any burr or debris in the groove will cut into the belt sidewalls.

With the belt removed, turn the driven and driving sheaves by hand and feel for rough bearings, wobble or binding. Confirm the sheaves are aligned and the shafts do not move under load. Correct any misalignment before fitting the Dayco AP44, because a classical V-belt will run hot and wear quickly if the drive is out of line.
