The Dayco AP33 is a classical wrapped V-belt in the A profile, with an 889 mm length, 13 mm top width and 8 mm height. Before you fit it, take a few minutes to inspect the drive and sheaves. A worn sheave or a misaligned drive will shorten the life of any new belt.

Start with the sheaves. Check the groove flanks for wear, scoring or a polished step where the belt has been running. Look for cracks, chips or a ridge at the bottom of the groove. Confirm the sheaves are aligned with a straightedge across the faces, and check that they are secure on the shaft with no wobble. A sheave that has worn out of profile will not hold the 40° angle of this belt correctly.

Then check the rest of the drive. Turn the sheaves by hand and feel for rough or noisy bearings. Remove any debris, oil or buildup from the grooves. Confirm the correct belt length was on the drive and that the take-up has enough adjustment to tension the new belt. If the drive uses more than one belt, replace the full set at the same time so the belts share the load evenly.

The Dayco AP33 carries the part number on the back of the belt. If you are matching an old belt, read that marking before you order, or measure the outside length and note the profile.
