Check each sheave for wear, rust, or debris that can damage a new belt. Confirm the ribs are clean and the pulley grooves are not sharp. Spin the accessory pulleys and idlers by hand; replace any that feel rough, noisy, or have excessive play. Verify the tensioner moves freely and holds correct tension.
Confirm the old belt's marking matches the Dayco 5050845. This belt has five ribs and an effective length of 2146.3 mm. If the old belt is stretched, glazed, or has missing ribs, the drive may have a misalignment or worn component that should be corrected first.
