For mounting a tapered bore bearing onto a plain shaft, the BGL H series adapter sleeve provides the connection. Each assembly arrives with the sleeve, lock nut and lock washer or MS lock. BGL produces these sleeves in nodular cast iron with quality above DIN 1563 GJS 500-7, and also offers carbon steel or stainless steel versions.

Decode the H series by the number after the letter: it tells you the shaft diameter. So H30/710E fits a bearing with a 710 mm bore, and H31/1000E fits one with a 1000 mm bore. The E at the end means the lock nut and lock washer come in the box. Prefixes H30, H31 and H39 reflect different relationships between shaft diameter and bearing tapered bore; match the prefix to your bearing series.

Use these sleeves wherever a bearing needs precise fixing on a plain shaft: gearboxes, conveyors, mills, pumps, fans and process machinery. They suit moderate loads and medium speeds, as long as the shaft meets h10 tolerance. In food, cement, steel and aggregate plants, they are common because shafts often lack a shoulder and the fastening must be firm yet removable.

Selection starts with two checks: the shaft diameter must agree with the designation, and the bearing's tapered bore must match the sleeve series. During mounting, clean the cone, apply the recommended lubricant, and tighten the lock nut with the lock washer until you reach the correct internal clearance. The MS lock stops the nut from backing off under vibration. Shaft and housing alignment matters to avoid parasitic loads. In dusty or wet areas, add protection.

Sleeves are interchangeable among makers who follow the same dimensional standard. If you have a part number from another brand, we can identify the BGL equivalent.
