SKF polyurethane belts are timing belts with a polyurethane body and steel tension cords. Like rubber timing belts they drive without slipping, but they use different tooth profiles and behave differently: they are stiffer, stand up to oil and wear, and stretch very little. Typical uses are positioning, synchronized conveying and machines where motion accuracy counts.

In PHG T5-165-10, T5 is the profile, with a 5 millimeter pitch, 165 is the length and 10 is the width, both in millimeters. PHG AT5-300-16 uses the AT5 profile, which has the same pitch as T5 but a different, wider tooth, so the two will not run on the same pulley.
DB ahead of the profile, as in PHG DB-T5-500-10, means teeth on both sides. When the last block starts with S, as in PHG T5-150-S150, it describes a different supply form rather than the width of a finished belt. Either way, copy the part number in full.
Low stretch lets a polyurethane belt hold position over long travel, which is why it shows up on linear axes, tables, gantries and conveyors with stops or carriers. The same stiffness makes it sensitive to pulley alignment and tension: too loose and it skips teeth, too tight and it overloads the bearings.
Minimum pulley diameter is another limit. Steel cords do not tolerate tight bends, and a pulley or idler smaller than specified will fatigue them. If the old belt has broken cords or a cracked back, check the diameters and the belt path before reordering the same part number.
