SKF centralized lubrication system components

In a centralized lubrication system, a pump sends grease or oil to many points on the machine, in small doses at short intervals, while the equipment keeps running. The SKF parts in this line carry the LL prefix. They are components and spares, such as pumps, metering devices, feeders, fittings and hoses, and none of them is selected in isolation: each one belongs to a specific system type and only works inside it.

LL codes are part numbers, not sizes

Every code here is a manufacturer part number. Looking at LL/352-005-VS or LL/24-0404-2337 will not tell you what the part is or what it delivers; the code simply points to one specific component. Others, like LL/DDC-222 and LL/DCM-20, belong to a family of parts and use a number to show the size or variant.

So copy the full code from the component nameplate or the system parts list, including the slash, the hyphens and any letters at the end. A one-digit difference can mean a metering device with another output or a fitting with another thread. If the nameplate is unreadable, the part number can be worked out from the system type and the details of the part.

Start with the system type

Systems come in single-line, dual-line and progressive designs, and parts from one design do not work in another. In a progressive system the feeders dispense lubricant in sequence, so one blocked point stops the rest. In a single-line system each metering device delivers its dose when the line is pressurized and then vented. Once you know which design the machine uses, the search falls into place.

When a point is not getting lubricant, the problem is usually upstream: a broken hose, a loose fitting, air in the line, a stuck metering device or an empty reservoir. Check what reaches each section before you order a spare. The lubricant also matters, since some greases do not pump well through long, narrow lines.

What we need to quote a component

Send the full LL part number and the quantity, plus the pump make and model, the system type, how many points it serves and the lubricant it runs. For a metering device or feeder, include the number of outlets and the output marked on the part. For a fitting or hose, include the thread, tube diameter and length. A photo of the nameplate and another of the part in place make identification easier.

Can I swap a metering device for a similar one?

Only for the same part number, or for an equivalent from the same system type with the same output.

Does the code tell me the output or the thread?

Not directly. It is a part number; those details are on the nameplate or in the system parts list.

What grease should the system use?

The one the equipment manufacturer specifies. Not every grease pumps well through long lines.

SKF Lincoln Centralized Lubrication Parts

SKF Lincoln centralized lubrication systems bring together pumps, metering devices, fittings, hoses and connectors that move lubricant from one central point to each lubrication point on a machine. They are used when there are many points to lubricate and relying on manual application is not practical. MR Industrial Accessories supplies this line and helps you identify the exact spare part from its part number.
